The discussion paper examines the growing water demand of India’s AI data centres and proposes Treated Used Water (TUW) for cooling as a circular water management solution. It aims to initiate a national dialogue on policy, infrastructure and pathways towards a water-secure AI future, supporting India’s vision of a Viksit Bharat through sustainable, resource-efficient and resilient digital infrastructure.
